Giant Chocolate Chippers
2-1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons light corn syrup
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 bag chocolate chip chunks, 12 ounces (can use either semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Preparation
1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
2. Combine flour, soda and salt and set aside.
3. Cream butter and sugars. Add corn syrup and beat in eggs and vanilla. Slowly add dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
4. Using an ice cream scoop, drop dough several inches apart on greased cookie sheet. Flatten to 3/8-inch thickness.Bake for 9 to 10 minutes. Let cool on sheets for a few minutes; then remove to wire racks.
Makes approximately 12–15 large cookies
