CCT Musical Theater presents Alice     July 31-August 10

CCT Musical Theater is proud to present the world premiere of Alice, written by local artist Jon Lorenz and produced by CCT at the East County Performing Arts Center.  Alice is a modern-day musical based on the well-loved story of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.  This rockin’ new musical based on Lewis Carroll’s classic is filled with exuberant dances, infectious tunes and startling imagery.  Alice is a rollercoaster journey of discovery like you’ve never seen on stage before!  Tickets can be purchased by calling 800-696-1929 or online at www.cctmusicaltheater.com.

 

AVP Crocs Slam San Diego     August 1-3

Beach volleyball is a favorite sport for players and spectators alike. You’re invited to come and watch a pro volleyball tournament as some of the world’s greatest men and women athletes compete for the San Diego title with main draw compentition. Balboa Park 8-Mile & 3-Mile Runs     August 2

You can choose between an 8-mile trail road race or a shorter 3-mile run at Balboa Park. The early morning exercise will get your day off to a good start so you can enjoy the rest of your day feeling energized. Clairemont Family Days     August 2

The event will begin with a yummy pancake breakfast and continue with a festival that offers musical entertainment, a hot rod car show, handicraft merchandise, great food, carnival rides, games, and more. San Diego Surf Cup XXVIII     August 2-7

This national premiere youth soccer tournament is one of the top two youth soccer tournaments in the United States. Banana Split in the Park     August 2

Residents near the Standley Recreation Center can come and get a hunk of a huge delicious banana split covered in mouth-watering ice cream and smothered in a variety of favorite toppings. A senior student has organized this event to raise funds to help pay medical bills for a 9-year old child; Taylor Hay. She has been diagnosed with pre-curser B non-Hodgkin lymphoblast lymphoma. Midnight Madness Fun Bicycle Ride     August 16-17

A kick-off celebration with a costume contest and a light the bike contest will take place before the fun bicycle ride begins to roll. Balboa Park 4-Mile Cross Country Run     August 30

Get ready to start your day with energizing exercise by joining a morning 4-mile cross country run at Balboa Park. It’s a great way to start the day!
