  Rock n’ Roll Marathon     June 1
Athletes worldwide will be coming to San Diego to participate at an exciting televised marthon. Approximately 45 rock and pop bands and 40 cheerleading groups will activetly entertain challengers along a 26.2-mile route that travels upon streets, parks, pathways, and highways. 6:25am-3:00pm. $100.00 - $125.00. Rancho Bernardo Alive! Expo     June 1
This popular event includes two stages of music and dance performances, a business showcase, food courts, merchandise, free health screenings, cultural exhibits, and a Kiddieland complete with bouncing castles, a farris wheel, and a climbing wall. 10:00am-4:00pm. Law Enforcement Torch Run     June 3
This event is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics in California. Over 200 law enforcement personnel representing several agencies will carry a flame-lit torch along the western edge of

W Hotel San Diego Grand Re-Opening Celebration of Restaurant     June 5
A grand re-opening of the restaurant at the W Hotel San Diego will be celebrated today. To draw attention to the event, skateboard ramps will be set up on the street outside in front of the hotel where professioal skateboarders will offer a demonstration of their skills. 5:00pm-11:00pm. St. Spyridon Church Greek Festival     June 6-8
This Greek festival that offers tours of the St. Spyridon Church and delicious homemade meals and pastries. In a friendly atmosphere while lively Greek music is playing, you can join in and dance Greek-style. Summer Facelift Neighborhood Clean-up     June 7
Join a group of volunteers to help revitalize the Hollywood Park neighborhood of City Heights. Philippine Festival & Parade     June 7
The event celebrates the 110th anniversary of Philippine Independence from Spain. 2008 U.S. Open Championship (Practice Round)     June 9-15
The U.S. Open is the national championship of golf in the United States. The event is open to professionals and amateurs with a Handicap Index of 1.4 or lower and has included players such as Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Ben Hogan. Globe Skate Demo     June 13
The Globe Skate Team is eager to present a professional skateboarding demonstration for all to see. Skateboard ramps will be set up in the parking lot at Belmont Park in Mission Beach. The Five Star Waste Vegetable Oil Cycling Team is promoting awareness about the use of waste vegetable oil as an alternative fuel. Kai Elua Ironman Outrigger Canoe Race     June 28
SCPRA Members from California, San Luis Obispo, Los Vegas, Arizona, Texas, and Hawaii will be competing at a long distance outrigger championship event. Wells Fargo International Triathlon     June 29
There are two courses to choose from for individuals and one for relay teams. The Sprint Course offers a 500-meter swim, 20K cycle, and a 6-mile run. The International Course offers a 1,000-meter swim, 30K cycle, and a 10K run. Proceeds from this event will benefit homeless persons in San Diego. 6:45am-11:45am.
