CCSA Hunger Walk     April 26

You can make a difference in the lives of hungry people by participating at this walking event. A group of interdenominational churches have come together to organize a sponsorship walk to raise funds that will be used to feed underprivileged persons. 7:00am - 11:00am. Multiple Sclerosis Walk     April 26

This walking event is an opportunity for people to come together to help make a difference in the lives of persons living with multiple sclerosis. The walk will travel in the neighborhood of Point Loma and Liberty Station. Post event activities feature food, music, and activitites for children. 7:00am - 12:00pm. Liberty Park. March for Babies     April 26

A nationwide fundraising walk (formerly known as WalkAmerica) and organized by the March of Dimes, will take place at Balboa Park today. Proceeds from this 5K walk will help to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. 9:00am - 11:00am. All American Soap Box Derby     April 26

Youths (age 8-17) will assist with the creation of soap box derby cars and race them. The event teaches basic skills of workmanship, competition, and perseverance. Approximately 100 derby cars will compete down a 500-foot hill. Cars will be transported to the top of the hill every few minuts. 9:00am - 5:00pm. Outrigger Challenge & Luau     April 26

Long Polynesian wooden canoes will be racing in the bay at a round robin tournament as teams work the paddles in synchronized motion. On shore, a luau will accompany the event with Polynesian dancers in grass skirts swaying to wonderful Polynesian music. 10:00am - 3:30pm. Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair     April 26

Linda Vista is celebrating the rich diversity of the community with a festival offering great foods, staged entertainment, and lots of merchandise. Other highlights include a World Arts Village, Teen Spot, and a Kids Zone. This event is in conjunction with the "Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Parade". 10:00am - 6:00pm. ArtWalk     April 26-27

A showcase of art in Little Italy will take place along a 1-mile route offering paintings, sculpture, photography, video, digital art, mixed media, music, and dance. Works will be displayed mainly in tents with performance areas along the way. A KidsWalk will offer artful fun and activities. 12:00pm - 6:00pm. Little Italy. La Jolla Half Marathon     April 27

This is one of America’s most scenic half marathons (13.1-miles). From Del Mar to La Jolla, participants will travel along the coast, up a steep summit, through neighborhoods, and finish at Scripps Park. This event is in conjunction with the "La Jolla Shores 5K" and WindanSea 5-Mile Stride". 7:30am - 11:30am. Del Mar Fairgrounds. $45.00.
