1st Annual Chavez Celebration March     March 14

Teachers, students, and parents from the King Chavez Academies will celebrate the birthday of Cesar Chavez in a brief ceremony describing how he helped to uplift the Latino community. St. Patrick’s 10K & 2/4-Mile Run/Walks     March 15

Participants are encouraged to wear an Irish costume or something green to this athletic event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Athletes can choose between several runs or walks. Post event activities include a costume contest, awards, pizza, and beer. Watch out for the "pinchers"! 7:30am - 10:00am. East Mission Bay. 28th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival     March 15

Wear something green when you come to enjoy the festivities in a Celtic Village (Ireland 1,000 years ago). Highlights include music, dance, crafts, rides, rescue animal demonstrations; plus delicious Irish food and green beer! This event is in conjunction with the "St. Patrick’s Day Parade". 10:00am - 6:00pm. 13th Annual Youth Fitness Expo     March 15

An exciting fitness expo will be held at Balboa Park where children can have a full day of fun. Amid the delight of kid’s music, the event offers fitness activities, games, raffles, snacks, and staged performances by children. 11th Annual Shamrock     March 17

St. Patrick’s Day will be celebrated at an adult (age 21+) block party where you can click your heels together and enjoy a delightful evening of festive fun. 7th Annual Persian New Year Celebration    March 18

The Persian New Year takes place on the last Tuesday of the Iranian calendar. On our calender, that would be today! You’re welcome to come and enjoy an evening of cultural celebration. 17th Annual Good Friday Walk with the Suffering Stations of the Cross     March 21

A religious procession will proceed along downtown streets stopping at various institutions commemorating Jesus’ journey to Calvary and His solidarity with the suffering. Costumed actors will re-enact scenes from the Stations of the Cross at each stop. 8:30am - 11:30am. Rescue

Horizon Christian Fellowship Church Service Good Friday Church Service     March 21

In recognition of Good Friday that preceeds Easter on Sunday, an outdoor Christian church service will be held amid the peaceful setting in Balboa Park.
