It’s carnival time! It’s time to have some fun with thrilling carnival rides, challenging carnival games, a giant inflatable slide, a Fun Factory for creative activities, snacks, and a portrait novelty booth to make memories. San Diego Resolution Run March 8
Beginning with a post-race expo at Mission Bay, this event offers 5K, 10K, and 15K races. Proceeds will benefit an organization known as Insulindependence that aims to change the lives of diabetics through adventure travel, educational outreach, and web-based community support. 7:30am - 11:00am. Walk for Kids March 8
You’re welcome to join a 5K sponsorship walk at East Mission Bay where the proceeds will provide mental health, educational, and social services for over 1,200 children and adolescents throughout San Diego. Guacomole Bowl Cook-Off Contest March 8
Teams will come together and use their own recipies to whip up bowls of guacomole that will be entered into a contest for the best tasting one. Guacomole lovers will get a feast of flavor from the many bowls their chips dip into. Come and taste these flavors and vote for your favorite one! 11:00am - 2:00pm. Fiesta Island Time Trial Series March 9
Cyclists are coming to Fiesta Island to compete at cycling. The event offers professional, recreational, and young riders an ideal location to experience competitive cycling in a safe and controlled environment. The racers will cycle laps against the clock until they complete their distance. 7:00am - 9:00am. 13th Annual Cesar Chavez March March 12
Elementary school children, parents, and teachers from the Cesar Chavez Elementary School will march through the community of Southcrest in honor and remembrance of Cesar Chavez. They will march for the values he set forth to uplift the Latino community with hope, pride, and justice. 10:00am - 12:00pm. 1st Annual Chavez Celebration March March 14
Teachers, students, and parents from the King Chavez Academies will celebrate the birthday of Cesar Chavez in a brief ceremony describing how he helped to uplift the Latino community. St. Patrick’s 10K & 2/4-Mile Run/Walks March 15
Participants are encouraged to wear an Irish costume or something green to this athletic event celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Athletes can choose between several runs or walks. Post event activities include a costume contest, awards, pizza, and beer. Watch out for the "pinchers"! 7:30am - 10:00am. East Mission Bay. 28th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival March 15
Wear something green when you come to enjoy the festivities in a Celtic Village (Ireland 1,000 years ago). Highlights include music, dance, crafts, rides, rescue animal demonstrations; plus delicious Irish food and green beer! An exciting fitness expo will be held at Balboa Park where children can have a full day of fun.
