Heavenly Hot Chocolate

1 ½ cups milk
1 ½ cups heavy cream
¼ cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 ounces chopped bittersweet chocolate
2 drops peppermint oil
Sweetened whipped cream, as garnish
Combine the milk, cream, sugar and salt in a saucepan. Heat over medium-low heat.
When the milk and cream just begin to steam, put in the chocolate and stir until melted.
Add the peppermint oil. Divide the hot chocolate and top with whipped cream.
