9th Annual Spring Fest     May 4-5

The community of Allied Gardens is celebrating the season of Spring with an evening festival at the community park. Tonight’s activities will include live musical entertainment, tasty food, carnival rides for children, and a beer garden for adults. Bring your family and friends for a good time. 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm. 18th Annual Union-Tribune Race for Literacy     May 5

Dr. Suess characters invite you to join this popular 8K run/walk at magical Balboa Park and the downtown area. 13th Annual Walk for Animals     May 5

You and your pet can join other people and their pets at a sponsorship walk to help raise funds to support animal shelters. Among the many dogs, you’ll see a variety of other lovable pets. 11th Annual Corona 5 on 5 Block Party     May 5

It’s a Latin lovin’ celebration to Benefit Christie’s Place – A Haven for Families Impacted by HIV and AIDS. This year’s muy caliente event takes place from 5pm to Midnight in the Gaslamp Quarter. Music, drinks, dancers and more. City Ballet presents "Balanchine"     May 11-13

City Ballet of San Diego, under the direction of Steven and Elizabeth Wistrich, closes its acclaimed 14th season by cementing its role as the sole local presenter of works by the legendary choreographer George Balanchine with "Balanchine." Three historic Balanchine ballets will be presented. "Agon," with music by Igor Stravinsky, is a landmark modern ballet that forever changed the look of ballet worldwide. "Divertimento No. 15," with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is a classical tutu ballet filled with elegance and invention. Preeclampsia Foundation Walk-A-Thon     May 12

Preeclampsia is a hypertension disorder arising in pregnancy that can threaten conditions for both the developing fetus and the mother. Additional research is needed to know more about it. Recycle Auto Waste Mira Mesa High School     May 12

Save the environment! Today, City of San Diego residents who are at-home mechanics can dispose of auto waste items without paying a fee. 4th Annual Beach to Brewery Bike Ride & Music Fest     May 12

Family Pedal & Paddle     May 12-15

Kayak the calm waters of Mission Bay and then ride a bike along the water’s edge. This is a family tour, especially for the younger set—kids ages 2 and up!
