Whale Watching with Harbor Excursions and Birch Aquarium     Thru March 31

A three (and a half) hour tour. The Birch Aquarium at Scripps Institution of Oceanography has long been associated with the gray whale migration. For the 2005-2006 whale-watching season, Scripps naturalists will be on board Harbor Excursion cruises to help search for whales and provide information on the gray whales. Whale sightings are guaranteed by Harbor Excursions. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Each ship has a snack bar and restrooms on board. San Diego Restaurant Week     January 7-12

Martin Luther King Jr Day Parade and Festival     January 13

The annual event commemorates the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. The Parade, featuring marching bands and floats, starts at 10am from the east side of PetCo Park (tailgate park at 13th and Imperial ) and travels north on Park Blvd to J Street, then west to 7th, then south on 7th and ends at the west side of PetCo Park. The Multi-Cultural FESTIVAL will be held from 11am to 5pm at the Martin Luther King Jr Promenade, and features exhibits, food, vendors, music and entertainment. Introduction to Kayak Fishing Class     January 25
